between "Do not panic until I give the signal." and "THIS IS OPPORTUNITY." I don't know which is more of a display of stupidity. Hey, I know, lets sue them! The laws and judges and courts will restore sanity.

C&C has jumped the shark.

I took it as sarcasm mixed with "don't give up" rhetoric.

We lost a big one but hasn't our country lost a lot of big ones in the last century while we slept and thought the government was there to serve and protect?

If we knew everything, we would lose our minds.

We can only put our hope in God.

Philippians 4:7-9

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

I suppose that's possible. I don't want to give up, I want people to recognize that laws and courts and elections are only hurting us not helping. Instead of continuing to fight a losing war the strategy needs to change and I am disappointed that all we hear from C&C is 'Stay the course'.

I am sure Jeff has his own doubts but staying positive is a must for the blog.

We can rant and exchange ideas in the comments.

I believe our system is literally set up for slavery with the illusion of freedom.

That is why I have wracked my brain and come to the realization that satan is god of this world, the evil people are slaves to sin, but God has plans for us to prosper in this life and after. That is the hope, not saving our country.

Actually, he is only a prince not a god. Though his desire was to be a god. Jesus made sure of his ultimate defeat by coming out of the tomb of death, the one last hurdle for human beings.

John 12:31 (NIV) - Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.

Nobody is perfect and we do the best we can where we are, but Jeff is out there fighting where I can't, this I know. We all need encouragement and if we get discouraged over this, then how can we stand strong if/when things really get bad?

There's a Taoist parable called The Old Man Who Lost His Horse:

"A long time ago, a poor Chinese farmer lost a horse, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s too bad.” The farmer said, “maybe.” Shortly after, the horse returned bringing another horse with him, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s good fortune,” to which the farmer replied, “maybe.” The next day, the farmer’s son was trying to tame the new horse and fell, breaking his leg, and all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s too bad,” and the farmer replied, “maybe.” Shortly after, the emperor declared war on a neighboring nation and ordered all able-bodied men to come fight—many died or were badly maimed, but the farmer’s son was unable to fight and spared due to his injury. And all the neighbors came around and said, “well that’s good fortune,” to which the farmer replied, “maybe.” And so the story goes.

In China, when something bad happens people will say, “Sai Weng Shi Ma” (Remember “The Old Man Who Lost His Horse”) to remind themselves and others that, sometimes, “bad” things happen which carry a silver lining—and that it’s often in the way you look at things which determines their power over your spirit. It is a caution to all not to get too attached to what happens to us, good or bad."

The First Amendment is both an entirely practical, necessary, vital declaration of rights AND a sacred and symbolic image of America, and it might be that it should not be sacred, that in our Western liberalism we've invested something secular (render unto Caesar) with a symbolic sacralization, and that our disappointment partly comes from the loss of that sacred nexus. Perhaps we reorient ourselves by remembering the American Revolution, and those bombastic overconfident redcoats marching in uniform with fife and drum and the ragtag fighters who won against them and remembering that God is what is sacred. Maybe the First will end up being amended to include all that modernity has inflicted on us, and perhaps we'll get an amendment on health freedom at the constitutional convention that might be born of all this.

I appreciate that you are trying to be positive but that ship has sailed, now the 'good attitude' sounds like gaslighting. We need to accept reality and change course, laws and courts aren't going to help. Fake elections are not going to help. The only non-violent option is separation, as has been done in human history countless times. The only other option is violent eradication, which is also a common occurrence in furless primate history. I don't like that C&C is advocating for the latter since team reality is losing that battle.

Does commenting about how plan A didn't work, doing it more won't work, and plan B should be peaceful separation count as doing something? Or an idea, or something to fight for?

I think the 'itch' that has everyone scratching here is impatience. I know I feel it. I went back and listened to the Alex Jones interview with Dr. David Martin which put everything in context for me. I think because Dr. Martin was talking to Alex rather than a large audience like his speeches in the EU, he said some things that I have not heard him say before. " … This is World War III, that’s not hyperbole, it just comes in a different form...” That kind of put it in context for me. This is a big war and it's going to get uglier. But, as he describes, we are winning and the enemies weight is shifting to their back foot.

https://expose-news.com/2024/06/22/since-2002-coronavirus-has-been-man-made/

There are groups that have been working all along on the idea of secession. This is a very real outcome or solution. We may even see secession movements within blue states such as Oregon. This is something we can work toward and put some effort in. Seceding from the USG will not be easy and there needs to be more awareness of this developed.

Also, let me point out that the First Adam gave dominion over the earth to Satan at the Fall. The Second Adam, God the Son incarnate, paid the price and with His ascension to the throne, Satan fell to earth like lightning, and all dominion, power and authority was given to Him who now sits on the throne as King of kings and Lord of Lords. Satan may be god to the enemy but he is not god of this world. He is now nothing more than a squatter who is dug in deeper than an Alabama tick on a wart hog and it is our JOB as the Body of Christ on earth to evict Satan from this world through the power of the Holy Spirit which has been given to us for this purpose.

So... We have to take the longer view of our Lord and Savior and understand that this is a major battle in a war that has been going on since His incarnation.

"Parallel"...interesting choice of words. I think we are already starting to see an organic parallel society develop with people voting with their feet and moving to "freedom states" like FL and TX. As this grows, the politicians will be dragged along kicking and screaming. At some point, it will necessarily reach a watershed and become a formalized separation.

Secession offers benefits and problems.

Chief among the latter IMO is the contractual guarantees made by the current federal government of SSA payments and Medicare benefits, to retirees who in good faith have paid into both accounts for decades. If this nation splits into Blue and Red parts, does anyone expect either one to be able to, or even willing to, honor those contractual payment commitments?

Y'all remember what Confederate States' scrip was worth in 1867? Or for that matter, what individual US states' scrip was worth across state lines in, say 1820?

Expand full comment
Politico Phil's avatar

Astute observation. The phrase "not worth a Continental" comes to mind in our first revolt against empire (which succeeded). Same experience with the Confederate scrip in our second revolt against empire (which failed). Of course, this is prolly going to happen regardless as the USG approaches financial insolvency before the end of this decade. The fiat USD is exponentially going worthless as wealth flees the USD in favor of the gold backed currency of the rising southern BRICS block.

Not really. Imo you need to propose alternatives and take action yourself also. Simply criticizing everyone else’s initiatives doesn’t really help move anything in the right direction.

If you think peaceful separation is the best plan, what are you doing to take action in favor of this?

i get what you're saying. don't get me wrong.

I think we're going to "win", but I also think it could take at least a generation. And that's exactly my biggest concern; do we have the intestinal fortitude, tenacity and commitment to see it through? I think we have to be realistic about time frames, lest we get discouraged and give way to apathy.

We've named the problem and the "enemy"...but we have not come to terms with how long this is going to take imo.
