She is a staunch Catholic, cannot even talk reason with her on that and praying to "saints" for this and that, so I think time will not work with her, hasn't yet. She needs a true wakeup call from God. Remember people, we need to keep our eyes on God and faith in Him and NOT who will be running or get into the WH (they are NOT our savior, and our world is doomed regardless!)
The Saints are our friends and intercessors in Heaven! Their lives, their martyrdom, their stories of great devotion and courage, can bring us closer to our Lord. PLEASE do not allow a difference of approach in faith traditions destroy your relationship. There is no wrong or right in worshipping Jesus Christ. The only one who wins such arguments is satan.
Amen, trying my best not to, but when you pray to someone other than God in Jesus' name, I have to wonder? "I will pray to Mary as she was given a workload from God to take care of..." REALLY???? Since when does God need help in accomplishing anything? She really said that to me, that Mary was given tasks to do in heaven in relation to our salvation...smh
TBF, the Romans would say that they do not "worship" Mary, merely "honor" her -- though to those of us on the outside it looks uncomfortably close to worship.
It is NOT worship. It is honor...In traditional cultures throughout history, the Mother of the King was always given elevated honor. Mary is the mother chosen by God to give birth to His Son, King of Kings.
I don't think that modern Americans can fully understand with their hearts, the amount of honor a son had for his mother in traditional cultures. A good son could never say no to a plea from his mother. Indeed. we see this at the wedding of Canaa in the New Testament.
Both the Orthodox and Catholics honor the Virgin Mary greatly as 'Theotokos', Mother of our God.
All prayers said to her are for her motherly intercession, and always lead us to her son, Jesus.
In all miracles and apparitions to saints, she leads the person to Jesus.
Catholics and Orthodox do not judge Protestants. despite the sola scriptura form of worship.
Why then are certain Protestants so judgemental of the worship traditions of those Christians whose worship to Christ predates them by millenia? Is this truly Christian and love of brother and sister in Christ. or self love? 'My way is the correct and only way'?
Countless Catholic and Irthodox Christians have suffered gruesome martyrdom for Christ. is this fair to them?
Do you think that all this type of denominational superiority mentality is good for the salvation of one's soul? Is there humility in that?
The greatest Orthofox prayer is a simple one:
' Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on ME a sinner'. 🙏✝️✌️
To answer your question about "why are protestants so judgmental", the answer is that, well... some are just people being people and opposing anything different from what they are familiar with. But others are critical because they have genuine concerns that some practices of the Roman church (or the Eastern church for that matter) may be either crossing the line into things forbidden by God, or at least leading to taking the focus off God and putting it elsewhere.
Of course, sincere protestants would acknowledge that no faithful believer is intentionally doing wrong on purpose; it's a dispute over who is right, not who is sincere.
I would agree that it matters not who occupies the WH, and that there is doom, but not for the world. I would say that what face doom in the face of a growing God-facing population are systems, political, economic, religious and etc. that are no longer sustainable. The world over. The planet's not going anywhere. Billions of humans will survive the current chaos. I suspect that in a generation or so - I might be dead, so the time to speculate aloud is present - the state of affairs in numerous sectors will be on the scale of unrecognizable to old codgers who grew up in the old paradigm. What I can't speculate on is what the awakened humans will create. I don't know your makeup or worldview apart from "our world is doomed regardless," but I would urge considering apocaloptimism. -? 2¢.
I am speaking with our times being Revelation time, Daniel time, end of the world tribulation time, so yes, the world is at its' close and ready for the millennial reign of the trib time closes and then a new heaven and a new earth afterwards
Sorry - give her time

Worship of the earthly mother of Jesus is not biblical but that detail does not matter to those who also believe in the infallibility of the pope.
TBF, the Romans would say that they do not "worship" Mary, merely "honor" her -- though to those of us on the outside it looks uncomfortably close to worship.
50+ Hail Marys vs 5 Our Fathers in each rosary is honor, not worship? I repeat: this is not biblical.

Yes! Knowing Scripture is what gives me hope in these dark crazy days!
I do like that word.
