that's good advice, thank you! I definitely haven't denied myself sugar, so perhaps this would help. I have heard it can be irritating for inflammation. Sorry you're going through this too. It's a nightmare, huh? I went through several months as well where I was just doing weights and light cardio...it's miserable, huh? You just miss running so much. There's nothing like it.

I feel so bad for both of you not being able to run like you used to π I started running later in life but now itβs such a part of my life and brings me so much joy and peace that I can totally sympathize with how hard it must be not to be able to run π Hope you find a way to take away the pain and get back to it!
Thank you!! It is something that has always given me peace and clarity...it's just 30 minutes a day with myself where I am responsible for nothing but getting fresh air and exercise. My running time has always been my time to really think things through...without it I was just lost. But there was a silver lining - because I felt so despondent during those many months I could not run, I sought solace in the church and have now been going actively every week for over a year. I am able to run again, thankfully, I just have to be careful and really take it easy and not push myself like I used to.
Yes, itβs definitely a way of clearing your head. I do use it almost like a prayer time quite often. Iβm glad your forced break from running had the silver lining of getting you back to church! And also glad you can now run again!
Iβve enjoyed reading about both of your love of running! I ran up to my 50th birthday. But just started having so much pain in my back and knees. So I stopped and only walk now. I miss running sooooo much! Just like you said--used it for quiet time and taking in everything outside around you. Was spiritual as much as physical. Hope you both are able to get back to it and enjoy it.
Not sure if you meant me with the βbothβ but Iβm still running π Ran a marathon about two weeks ago in fact π
Iβm sorry you havenβt been able to run anymore π If you want to try something different that might help you get back to it, I highly recommend The Sling Method! Paul Howell has helped so many injured and hurting runners get back to pain-free running through his techniques! Itβs pretty amazing. (And no I donβt have any vested interest in it, I just think itβs a great, innovative method!).
RL, yes I did mean you and Jen! And yes, I could tell from your comments that you still run and love it! I will have to take a look at that book, tho I may be disqualified bc I now have dystonia in my left foot and a partial knee replacement in left knee. Sigh! Oh well. Iβll still take a look at your recommendation. Thanks! Keep on running!
