Can I just say how thankful I am that you are monitoring the DNC for us? A (conservative) neighbor asked me the other day if I’d been watching it - he felt like he needed to, to keep abreast of news - and I was so pleased to be able to say I was up to date on it but hadn’t had to endure a second of it first hand 🎉

Why would any conservative in their right mind watch it (aside from Jeff Childers doing it as a public service)? We all know they are liars and mostly degenerates, why would anyone subject themselves to this? What good can come from it?

Human beings are a strange lot in that they intentionally torture themselves with things that make them miserable rather than just turn it off. I will never forget I was on business travel when the Newtown shooting happened. I heard it on the news in the car on the way to the airport. Of course it was horrible, but it wasn't happening to me, it was a thousand miles away, and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. So I said a short prayer, changed the channel, and enjoyed music for the rest of the hour drive.

When I got to the airport I met my boss there. The first words out of his mouth were about the shooting. He said how he was desperate for news about it and was constantly searching around the news station on the entire drive trying to find more information. He made himself miserable for an hour over something completely out of his control.

IMO, this is the difference between believing God is in control versus feeling like a helpless peon in the universe. People who feel helpless are desperate for any information they can cling to and make themselves miserable in the process.

Don't do this too yourself. There's no need to watch the Dems lie to be "informed". We know their character and that they will try every dirty trick to steal it. Unless it's your job to counter them, focus on what you can control and enjoy life.

Edit: typos

Wise comment - you must have read this…

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Think about these things - that bears repeating.

I wasn't thinking about that verse but it's fantastic.

One of the benefits of attending a strongly biblical church (thirty years for me) is that you can't help but being brainwashed (but in a good way) over time. The Bible calls it the renewing of one's mind (Romans 12). After a while there's an inherent sense of biblical vs. non-biblical behavior. One doesn't need to search for a verse to understand how to react to things as it becomes one's nature.

And of course being open to be led by the Holy Spirit is key. But one has to know the Bible to understand if something is truly of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is the author of the Bible and He doesn't contradict Himself. So if one is questioning if something is of the Lord, but it contradicts scripture, it's an easy call.

Yes to all of that! All kinds of rot can sneak up and pollute our minds, so we need to be intentional. “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly” (Colossians 3:16). Otherwise, garbage in, garbage out.

That’s my favorite Bible verse. I quoted it last night at dinner with friends. Every time I quote it to someone they ask me to repeat it. It’s so gorgeous! 💜✝️✨ But I prefer the KJV - most authentic to original manuscript.

It definitely ranks up in the top 10 of my favorites. The reason I quoted this one in response to Jeff C’s comment, is because it’s the one which always pops into my mind when the news of the day or events of the world start to weigh heavily in my heart and mind. Then God reminds me through this verse to redirect my focus. Isn’t it beautiful? ✝️💜

Freebird,

I have a beautiful vintage print of a young girl in a meadow, looking pensively at a flower in her hand with this same (slightly modified) saying underneath the print. I see it every day. With all the craziness and fear mongering going on in the world it’s a great reminder to reflect on the good in life. Fear, anxiety and angst are killers. They will not only shorten your life, but will make it miserable too.

You shouldn't be watching the local news, or any news for that matter, it is propaganda. It's not meant to inform you but to either 1) increase ratings through sensationalism (if it bleeds it leads) or 2) persuade you to behave in a certain manner, usually against your own interests. Neither is good for you, emotionally or spiritually.

We already saw one miracle when God spared Donald Trump's life. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are more.

So true! Catholics have a prayer called the Surrender Novena. Once I discovered that prayer I don’t worry about anything. God is in control as you said and I can’t do anything to change it so why worry. I trust in Jesus, surrender myself to Him and let Him take care of things. It’s liberating!

So, the value is this. Most of the time I am totally removed from their ads, their Fake Media, their web pages, sites, etc. ... and so every once and awhile a dose of seeing how bad it really is ... is a 'bring home' reality check of where we are. And it is much, much worse than I viscerally feel it on any given day. Worst of all, these people are True Believers ... and you would have to use TNT or nukes to dislodge them from their belief system. And to some greater or less degree, this observation applies to most of the electorate as well as a huge swath of that 'other party'.

The Confederacy won the war! But it must have the Dunces.

Well ... there is the hint in my comment that watching just a wee smidgeon of the DNC Dancing Prancing SS damn near did me in, particularly as to any hope whatsoever of a recovery to health barring total collapse. The only bright side dark side is that this stuff eventually burns itself out (the bright side), but often at the cost of tens of millions dead and a lot of human emotion suffocation (the dark cost). And yes, at this point, I'd move to Russia for relief in a hot second if I was in better health.

But wait! All is not lost. DeWife turned seventy today. And there is eating out today at a prime eatery. And I'll have my exotic and eccentric special for dinner ... fried onion rings and French onion soup, and then down to The Gelato Store for some mint chocolate chip gellato. And it is so good that it doesn't matter one wit whether one spells gelato gellato with one or two 'els' ... or even two 'tees'. Or is that 'trees'? (After three cups of coffee I get very confused!)

I share your gratitude to Mr. Childers, Esq. for diving on this grenade to save his platoon. The whole thing is an exercise in bizarre demagoguery.

Parenthetically, I managed to stumble upon an article this morning from The Daily Mail excerpting Michigan Attorney General and militant lesbian Dana Nessel's challenge to republicans and the conservative Supreme Court justices to prey the wedding ring from her "cold, dead, gay hand." This is the climate the DNC is actively creating. Yet, even the most staunch reactionaries could not care less about gay marriage.

Watching Nessel in full fascist "Mussolini on the Balcony" mode serves as yet another reminder of why I am glad that my wife and I pulled up stakes and left Michigan for good.

For me personally that ship has sailed. If gay people wish to enjoy the fruits and detriments of wedded bliss, more power to them. I'm more disturbed by the overtly hateful rhetoric (as evidenced by Dana Nessel), the cavalcade of dysfunctional politicians (also evidenced by Dana Nessel) and washed-up celebrities being rolled out to support the DNC's cause, and the harsh reality that there is still a significant number of people out there who share these beliefs.

The truth is that the God of the Bible is anti-queer, anti-alphabet sodomite. And nobody wants to deal with that because you know ... for reason of a fake 'tolerance' being glorified as virtue over that which is tributary of God. Not even the would-be allegedly Christian pastorate in the main wants to say openly, loud and clear that sodomy is anathema.

Christians need to get it through their heads that the Lord who now sits on the His throne in heaven ruling over all is an Intolerant God who will hold all societies accountable to His Law. But Satan does his best as a squatter to convince us otherwise. Read Psalm 2.

Maybe only the Elect?

My best guess from long observation is that God is not really, really real in any vivid sense in the minds of most Christians. Maybe part real. Maybe part abstraction. Maybe somewhat of an deus ex machina spewing out goodies, benefits, uplifting 'feel goods' ... like a bubble gum machine gone mad awry.

For example! How many folks, and that's if they had the wit to figure it out in the first place, would forgo a profit of 7x or 8x so far over the past five to years in BitCoin for reason of it being a violation of the 9th Commandment ... not to mention other injunctions against the same elsewhere? And with huge multiples of profit down the road yet to appear? Now that is a real tough decision to have to make.

For most Christians sitting in Fake Churches, their god is their comfort physical, their comfort emotional, and add in the twin gods of wealth and of the blind eye, both cauterizing of an hope to wise judgment? And why is this? Because it is very, very uncomfortable to turn pages in Foxe's Book of Martyrs and then put on a happy face. I ought to know because, and as afore mentioned elsewhere, I like gelato mint chocolate chip. And the omnipresent danger in gelato mint chip and other such seductive persuasions as may be thrown across one's pathway is that they can easily trend towards the unthinking habitual and the overriding. It is far easier to pretend the world is what it isn't.

Humanity walks a tightrope every day and knows it not.
