“A growing number of reports all over the world describe how giant, ugly solar “farms” are being rendered instantly inoperable by a single hailstorm.” Not surprising…as much as the globalists tout green energy, they want you dependent on THEM. Think you can go “off grid” without consequences? Think again. Golf ball sized hail is not uncommon during Florida or Colorado thunderstorms. Grapefruit sized hail? Now that’s a whole other bag of ice. What has this world come to? I used to be a sane, go with the flow kinda gal. Now, I proudly don my tinfoil hat and spend most days looking over my shoulder…questioning everything and everyone. 🤦♀️
“…Now that’s a whole other bag of ice.” 😆 Note that wind “farms” are also vulnerable to natural weather events. This morning’s news coverage of the tornado destruction in Greenfield, Iowa including some stunning footage of shattered and bent giant windmills littering the fields, in some cases on fire. A great metaphor for the lasting effect of the “green energy” agenda.
P.S. You may need more than a tinfoil hat to protect yourself from giant hail!
As we were driving east along I-10 a few weeks ago, just before Tally, I noticed farmlands being converted to acres of solar panels. I remarked to my husband that one good Florida hailstorm of even minimal proportion would take those panels out in minutes .... just saying.
BTW ... I now end most of my thoughts with the phrase "just saying" because "dumb@ss move" would be overtly offensive. Not that I should care.
We have driven the route numerous times in last few years. The solar farms start just west of I-75 and run along both sides of I-10 for miles and miles and miles. What used to be productive, endless miles of farmland is now barren land covered with hideously ugly and detrimental to life solar panels. 💔💔💔
I have a friend who gets her horse feed from up that way and she said her supplier told her. I think her hay comes from there, so he’s been there a while.
We have community electrical aggregate programs that ‘shop’ our electrical power needs to various providers which then choose which one provides the best deal. The problem is the companies that would like to be considered for this program must get a minimum of 8% of their power from ‘green’ energy sources (wind, solar). As these sources are less cost effective, their rates are higher than traditional power suppliers. But, my liberal overlords claim using these companies, while they are more expensive, is better for the greater good and for our planet. Just nuts. 😡
Susan, “I now end most of my thoughts with the phrase "just saying" because "dumb@ss move" would be overtly offensive. Not that I should care.” Might have to steal that one! 😁
I read a while ago that outside Palm Springs there are acres and acres of solar panels….but get this….it said it is affecting the temperature out in the desert…and not in a good way’!!!
That would make sense. The reflection of the sun off of the black panels would have to generate a lot of heat. I've heard that it can fry a bird pretty quickly. I checked on-line and the first headline was "Solar plant incinerates 6000 birds a year." Most of these gimmicks for clean electricity are so bad for the environment and wildlife, but young people and greenies don't stop to look at facts. They are so easily manipulated because everything In their world is based on feelings.
And they're not even legit feelings--they're feelings whipped up by media. All you have to do is go out into nature, hiking, birding, camping, picnicking--whatever. Compare the FEELING you get in a place not near a solar farm to the FEELING you get when you are near one. Not only visually ugly, dangerous to birds, but also generative of bad, non-nature vibes you can FEEL.
But of course, that would entail getting head out of screen and doing something IRL-based.
I remember when "environmentalism" had similar aims to "conservation," and it was about protecting nature. Now, it's almost as if the PTB cheerleading this "green revolution" want to redefine what is "natural" and replace actual nature with manufactured "green spaces." I guess they can't really play God until they have somehow undermined His creation and replaced it with one of their own.
My husband used to work for in environmental engineering - hazardous, toxic and radiologic waste. He is against nuclear power because of the waste products. Everyone acknowledges it exists, but no one wants to have the containment center in their backyard and transportation of the waste would pose very real risk. I have to agree it's better than these "green" energy sources, but even nuclear waste will accumulate over time.
But the longer the half-life, the lower the emitted radiation because it's decaying so slowly - physics rules lol!
It needs to be put somewhere it can't leak or be disturbed, which is non-trivial, but the volume is much smaller than the volume of toxic chemicals from batteries and solar panels, so...
Yes but it still remains radioactive and dangerous for a far longer period of time than we can control for. I guess I don’t have much trust in the people who handle these things.
Yeah I clearly trust the people responsible for doing all this a lot less than you do. Your view seems a bit naive to me.
There is also the issue of transporting the waste, because a lot of places are not appropriate for storing nuclear waste so it has to be sent long distances sometimes in order to get to the storage location.
Oh “rules”. Like people in this government or industry don’t break rules all the time. Or that you can expect that even if they’re following them now, they’ll be following them decades into the future. Or that human error won’t come into play. Your naïveté is quite breathtaking. Especially knowing your stance on the Covid shots and mandates.
They’re also hard on infrastructure - parking garages in particular, because they’re heavier. Apparently most crash barriers along freeways aren’t strong enough to stop them either. I’ll see if I can find the article about this.
Even I remember doing experiments in elementary school to show the heat generated by putting water into a tin foil pan painted black and sitting it in the sun vs. putting water into a foil pan that's not painted black. The black pan will get hotter and put off heat which is why you don't paint your house a dark color in warm climates. Rather, you choose a light color and you even wear light colored clothing.
There’s a huge wind farm planned in some of the windiest areas of NE AZ. Springtime gusts of 100MPH are not unusual, and it blows for nearly 2 -3 solid months. The Phoenix escapees are already lamenting, “does it EVER stop?” Maybe tptb forgot that the turbines have to be shut down when the winds are too strong. /s
Lots all over CA, and hundreds of wind turbines surrounding Palm Springs.
Here in Oregon there are now wind farms instead of wheat or hay crops. The money is too good. If I recall, $1000 per month per turbine to the ranchers. That’s some big 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰
Yes, they do affect the area around the sites. I am so glad the one behind my place failed in the planning stage, although they did clear the land. It was a close call.

Gates-of-hell has been buying up land around those parts. So.
Did not know that. Makes sense now, in a sick sort of way.
I have a friend who gets her horse feed from up that way and she said her supplier told her. I think her hay comes from there, so he’s been there a while.
Hope he takes a grapefruit in the head while he's out plowing. LOL

Yeah, that is some pretty productive land up there but anymore. Thanks DUKE !

True. But you only have to suggest nuclear (the cleanest, safest energy source we have) for the same folks to recoil in horror.
The big problem with nuclear is the waste and storage. Otherwise it’s a much better option than all of these supposed green energy sources.
My husband used to work for in environmental engineering - hazardous, toxic and radiologic waste. He is against nuclear power because of the waste products. Everyone acknowledges it exists, but no one wants to have the containment center in their backyard and transportation of the waste would pose very real risk. Nuclear storage is a non issue. It's so small but yes, it does have special handling requirements.
Goodthing we have tons of BLM land to use.
Not a non issue when the half life is as long as it is. And not a non issue when human error is a thing.
But the longer the half-life, the lower the emitted radiation because it's decaying so slowly - physics rules lol!

It is a non issue when safe storage solutions exists.
The amount of fuel is easily handled by conventional storage methods.
There's a lot of rules in place and are the reasons nuclear has such a good track record.
Same rules were in place when Trump was in office, too.
Of course waste is transported around. It happens all the time. Your local major highway is likely HC marked and approved, too.
Nuclear is the way of the future.

I read that electric cars are so heavy they need stronger tires, the tires are shedding rubber.
They’re also hard on infrastructure - parking garages in particular, because they’re heavier. Apparently most crash barriers along freeways aren’t strong enough to stop them either. I’ll see if I can find the article about this.
I saw where it was the EV trucks that broke through barriers…time will
All good points!

Appreciate you sharing the links
Here’s one on just the tires: https://open.substack.com/pub/tucoschild/p/redux-obese-evs-generate-massive
Good info, thanks!
Not really.
A tesla normal sedan is about the same weight as most other cars.
lol ok

Coming soon from a government agency near you: “birds at risk of extinction; send more 💰.”

Hail and snow will only add to the fun.

Farmers get all the profit from turbines, with none of the work and overhead of a traditional farm. Too hard to pass up, I could imagine.
