Being raised in Newark NJ among the black population - I can tell you they know...just how corrupt politicians are, especially those in Newark - and are very aware of the democrat plot to enslave us all.

And yet they likely voted for Cory Booker for mayor and for senator. Go figure…

Booker, like Obama, was the right "shade" everyone could tolerate.

After Lautenburg met his maker in 2013, whale-sized RINO Chris Christie appointed a Republican who served for a few months until a special election was held. Cory Booker won that election and has been gracing the Senate with his presence ever since.

Don't forget how the demoncats stole the 2002 Senate election in New Jersey when their nominee, the human slimeball Robert Torricelli, was running behind his Republican opponent and pulled the plug on him about five weeks before the election. They replaced him with the same Frank Lautenberg who had "retired" but had a sudden change of heart when Torricelli was getting spanked in the polls. The law, of course, did not allow for a replacement at such a late date but the New Jersey Supreme Court said, "Whatevah," and let Lautenberg run.

He’s “won” the seat twice since then I think. The NJ GOP can’t figure out how to win anything but the governor’s office once in a while.

Yet black skin color doesn't matter if the person is conservative, well educated, mainstream in speaking style...

Then they are considered oreo cookies.

I am always pleasantly surprised that black people in the UK sound just like everyone else. I believe that mainstreaming in a culture counters racism.

I was born in Newark, raised 5 blocks over in Elizabeth in the 80s/90s. The D party is an entrenched machine in that area and it wields all the power. It doesn't really matter what the voter wants - they are given no real choice. The current Mayor of Elizabeth has been in office for 32 years - he has run unopposed since 2008! The Mayor before him was there for 28 years. Anyone trying would be going up against not just local machine, but the statewide network. It's not a democracy, it's a fiefdom.

It's Tammany Hall, at the very least. Everything is very bureaucratic by design, because this allows for both corruption and obfuscation. If you want to get anything done quickly, it helps to know a guy. To know a guy, you have to be helpful, friendly, or related. Once you know a guy, then you are complicit and incentivized to keep the status quo because you directly benefit. And round and round it goes.

This is so true, and most blue cities are run exactly like that. The rulers don’t care if there are drug wars with killings daily, as long as they get to rule over the ashes, and dead bodies. And these are usually white people ruling over blacks. So then an

Ack

Ike Cory hooker gets in, and sees how it works, and doesn’t give a crap either, as long as he gets his perks. There are no altruistic politicians. Anywhere. Ever. Never have been.

Actually Newark has had a black mayor since 1986. And the person who stepped in briefly when Booker became Senator was Puerto Rican. The majority of people in government in both Newark and Elizabeth are either black or hispanic - Elizabeth has some more Irish and Italians, especially in the police and fire departments, but this also reflects the demographics - Elizabeth is a city of ethnic enclaves.

Fiefdom - well said. The 80s were some crazy times there - still not great and some areas are worse due to the gentrification pushing others out. 32 years?! That's nuts.

Indeed. The funny thing is, I didn't realize how rough it was until I moved away for grad school. The first time my husband saw where I went to grammar school (in Elizabethport), he locked his car door. I laughed.

KC is the same way. Last fall, there was a huge funeral for a man who the press said was the 'last R mayor in KC' (although technically mayoral races are supposed to be non-partisan) His last year in office was 1991. As it's non-partisan, I am not sure, but can't even remember the last time a Conservative was even on the ballot for Mayor. The machine is corrupt and powerful. Most Conservatives fled to the suburbs a long time ago, hubby and I included.

Just like Massachusetts where the Democrats perfected the art of stealing elections. Back in 2000 I had the opportunity to talk with the Constitution Party candidate for President. I asked him “As a resident of Massachusetts will I have the opportunity to vote for you?” He replied “You won’t believe this. My name will be on the ballot in 49 states. Massachusetts is the only state where my name will not appear.” He went on to explain why. He said he had way more than enough signatures and other necessary qualifications to have his name placed on the ballot, but the Secretary of State, William Galvin, (he’s still the MA Secretary of State) kept coming up with “reasons” to disqualify. After numerous attempts to meet Galvin’s demands the Constitution Party realized it was a futile effort and gave up. Years later Galvin did the same thing to Republican Rayla Campbell in her effort to get her name on the ballot for the Congressional seat held by Democrat Ayanna Pressley.

Yes! My business handles calls from a lot of people in Philly (many areas predominantly African American). These folks are not as gullible and out of touch as the media makes them out to be. They see what's going on. And to a larger extent than most would think.

I was curious as to where everyone was from on the Zoom call re: Kamala Harris. Did some research this morning and found the following:

•Anton Daniels is from Detroit, MI.

•Odiddy, I believe is from NYC.

•Kamfromthevalley, SoCal.

•Talks with Tukay, Dallas, TX.

•Nabeel Zahid, a realtor from Gainesville, VA.

Maybe the speaker who voiced her endorsement of Harris is from Chicago? Glad to see such a robust conversation & reaction from the group as the country continues to awaken.
