Hmmm. Famines and wars. God’s way of getting our attention. Stand back and look in the mirror and say, “You talkin’ to me?” And if you’re not paying attention. Oh well...

The biggest mistake the church can make is to frame current events as the "end times" as if this is all inevitable and outside our control and responsibility. In fact, we will escape the end because we will be raptured out of history. We even justify what's happening because "it's all ordained in the Bible".
There have been many wars and famines in the last 2,000 years. We've even had 2 world wars! And every time we're told that, "This time it's different. This is the end times." "But but but...this time it IS different!" All I can do is suggest that Christians stop listening to men and re-examine what you are being taught through an objective examination of Scripture. This is the exact same problem that Jesus faced with the Pharisees and the people that listened to them. Forget all that and let the Word speak for Itself.
I’ve zero patience for Christians who wanna live with their head in the sand because “this is inevitable as part of the buildup to Jesus coming back.”
Because as much as it seems it really may be The Time this time, folks have been thinking this for the last 2000 years. We just don’t know.
We must be alert and watchful. And active.
God told the Jews in captivity to settle in, grow gardens and raise kids, and to seek the peace and prosperity of the cities where they found themselves. Even though they were to be there for only 70 years.
Mat 24:3-8 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
There is more, of course, and you can read on but it seems that we are experiencing “birth pangs” a.k.a “sorrows” of the end times, as it has been described. Scripture is still being fulfilled as we live today. When we see the Abomination of Desolation, I’ll sit up and take notice.
In Matt 24, as you describe, Jesus explains to His disciples what to watch for so they may flee before it is too late to get out of Jerusalem. In Luke 21:20-22, Jesus explains, "For these are the days of vengeance, THAT ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN (in the OT) MAY BE FULFILLED."
In Matt 24: 33-36, Jesus says, "...this generation (of those listening to Him) will by no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled. Heaven and earth WILL pass away but My words will by no means pass away. But of THAT day and hour (when heaven and earth pass away) no one knows...but My Father ONLY." Clearly, Jesus was not describing the end of the world for even He did not know that time.
Jesus delivers the same warning to the seven churches in Asia through John in Revelation. Because of the warnings of Jesus to the church in Jerusalem, they got out before Jerusalem was made desolate and the Temple was destroyed thus saving His followers as He promised them.
I appreciate what you are saying, but just because scripture has been interpreted a certain way doesn’t make it wrong outright. Teachings handed down to pupils through the generations doesn’t make them wrong. There is still prophecy being unfolded and things falling into place that will indeed fulfill the book of Revelation. The pieces on the board are moving around. And yes, I believe it IS man made. Humans are doing despicable things to each other in the name of all sorts of reasons. I don’t think there is an End Times because God decided that for us. I think whatever unfolds for End Times will be because WE did it….God just foretold it because He already saw the outcome. He knew what free will would produce in the hearts of man. We may not all agree on the interpretation….. and yes I fully understand the correct way to interpret scripture in context and in alignment with all biblical scripture old and New Testament. I do not read much at all from others on their interpretations of scripture. I use the Bible. Period. But I choose carefully who I listen to and discern for very sound biblical teaching using the whole counsel of Gods Word….and their interpretation isn’t just wrong because it fits the generational teachings. If that makes sense.
I’m actually quite wary of people who think they have a new interpretation of scripture. Open to new possibilities but proceed with caution too.
Much of the hoooplah from previous generations was baloney. BUT, who can deny the current world affairs and their relation to actual biblical prophecy about end times. The placement of Israel and Iran, Russia, China and what they are doing. The table is being set. None of that movement happened back in the day. Too much had been unfulfilled. 30 years ago when people were saying “end times” I just turned my head away because it was obviously crap. Now, I’m taking notice. No man knows the day or time of any of it. But we can know the seasons. The seasons could be 10 years long too. So lots of wiggle room about timing.
You wrote, "I appreciate what you are saying, but just because scripture has been interpreted a certain way doesn’t make it wrong outright. Teachings handed down to pupils through the generations doesn’t make them wrong."
I totally agree with this but for totally different reasons. We have 2,000 years of church history to learn from. For 2,000 years the Holy Spirit has been working through the saints that came before us to develop a fuller understanding of the Word of God in the body of Christ. This is our heritage. This is how church doctrine was developed and contains much wisdom handed down from the giants in the faith who came before us. We learn from those who came before.
Unfortunately, the modern church has neglected and forgotten much of this wisdom. Just a review of the historic church's understanding of eschatology would probably be very foreign to the ears of today's Christians. While I agree with the premise of your statement, the fact of the matter is dispensational and premillennial eschatology are not "generational teachings" handed down through church history. They are in fact a modern day invention and are unknown in the historic church.
What I am trying to suggest without being offensive is that these modern "end time doctrines" are in fact not Scripturally sound. I could spend pages discussing this and I have commented on this before though most probably have not seen my comments. Let me just point out a couple of instances for your consideration as you study.
In John's introduction, the first sentence says, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants, things which must shortly take place..." and ends with "...for the time is near." In the next sentence, he writes, "John, to the seven churches which are in Asia." So God through John is telling the seven churches in Asia of his day that the time is near. I'll just leave it at that. Oh, and at the end of Revelation, Christ reiterates TWICE, "I am coming quickly." Does that mean at the speed of light or is He saying He is coming soon to John's audience?
Just to comment further, Daniel 9:26-27 prophesies the coming of the armies to destroy Jerusalem and the Temple. The parallel passage to Matt 24 and Daniel 9 is Luke 21:20-22 which makes clear the meaning of Matt and Daniel. This is the "abomination of desolation" and, as Luke explains, was to be the armed invasion of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple as God brings the Old Covenant to a close. Jesus said in Matt 24:21, "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, NOR EVER SHALL BE." The Great Tribulation refers to the destruction of Temple in that generation alone (70 AD), an absolutely unique event in history never to be repeated. I know this is extremely brief but it gives you some ideas to look into.
A consideration of the plain text of scripture without twisting the meaning of the words to make it fit 2,000 years in the future will introduce anyone to a view of God's word that has been neglected in the modern church in favor of more trendy ideas which sell more books.
You are right. This is deliberately human engineered Kill the Lumps public policy UN sourced and delivered throughout the world. Kill Shots were just one part of the program. This is not some mystical visitation on autopilot. Real people are doing this to us ... and real people must be stopped and in my book executed for mass murder.
I'm trying to compose something that address's that exactly. Holding the people behind this PERSONALLY accountable is the only way to break this cabal.

Exactly. The Holy Spirit always answers prayer to open your mind to the Word.
