They're just "following the science," you know. Same narrative science as masks, lockdowns, climate, all of the new enlightenment age we are in. Have you ever heard of "biopsychology?" I hadn't before, either. But here is a description of it:

https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-biopsychology-2794883

Biopsychology "science" offers this rationale for changing public policy to conform to gender identity...it is "science" you know, "the best science" we must follow, The Science (TM):

https://mindofreality.wordpress.com/psychology-corner/gender-role-stereotypes/gender-identity/

Biopsychologists, like all pseudoscientists use a tiny bit of actual medical, natural science to build on and expand an entire narrative to fit a desired public policy. When you cut through the pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo it says you can be whatever sex/gender you wish to be because, zygote! Zygotes have no visible genitalia, ergo is a personal choice. Nevermind that pesky genetic coding inside of a zygote that has predetermined sex, gender. And since the science of genetics - as presented - in this study is plausibly non-determinative it is up to any individual to identify as a sex/gender of their own choosing that they feel most comfortable as:

https://www.scq.ubc.ca/genetics-of-sex-and-gender-identity/

Ok, a bunch of wacky egghead scientists in academia doing their wacky thing. How does that impact me, my life? For lawyers like Jeff, look no further than parental custody battles, or battles between parents and school officials, mental health counselors, medical professionals, all deemed "experts" and recognized as such in courts of law that decide disputes over gender of a child, surgeries on genitalia, hormones and drug treatments. In a court case an "expert" recognized under Rule 72 evidentiary criteria, will be allowed to testify using this "zygote" pseudoscience as authoritative. And if you're not an expert "biopyschologist" capable of and willing to debunk your own field then you won't be allowed to counter the testimony. A pure biology scientist isn't able to make a complete rebuttal - out of their area of expertise. Not even a member of the clergy citing God's law can challenge that pseudoscience. It's how pseudosciences gain standing.

Biopsychology. One of many pseudosciences. Assaults on reason, assaults that turn the practice of real, natural science on its head. Narrative Science. Admissible in a court of law to make decisions that involve the butchery of children's genitalia, eugenics, a hall of horrible's unleashed on society. But relax, don't be paranoid and conspiracy-minded. It's The Best Science (TM) we're following.

Taken to its logical extreme, Transgender advocates essentially are saying that sex (male or female) is not bioligcally fixed, instead it is susceptible to modification. Of course, us "haters" will point out that a bioligcal male is still a male, even if he dons a dress. He's showing admirable devotion to The Cause if he goes further, having someone cut off his penis, implant silicone breasts and being shot full of hormones. But, short of having an entire new body grown and his mind transferred into it, the fact remains that he's still a biological male. Or the same for a female pretending to be a male (and I've met both kinds!) Some governments even legally recognize such preferences and issue official documents or enforce the tranny's choice upon others. Now here's where it get's interesting...

In the domain of women's rights alone, as Jeff has aluded, to allow mutability of sex identy opens many cans of worms. For example, of what value are laws regulating sex discrimination, if sex ceases to be a fixed biological quality? If anyone can play for any team merely by stating an arbitrary sexual preference, the logical endpoint of such a chain of events will probably be a large single team dominated by biological males.

Will the same logic be applied to other issues of discrimination? Let's look at race. For a long time, some social liberals have claimed it's just a "social construct." Indeed, while I haven't researched in depth, many prominent academics claim that race does not exist. Have Progessives thought through the implications of that? We lack only one Surpreme Court decision claiming that race is not based upon biology. At that point, seems to me, any Civil Rights laws relating to race crumble, going all the way back to the 19th century! Imagine the absurdity of a Black being denied a job or an apartment because he was Black. And when he sought legal remedy, the defendant need only cite prior law that race was a "social construct," thus completely arbitrary, thus no grounds for any claim at law.

Are my conjectures ludicrous? Of course they are. But only a few decades ago, so were the ideas that gay men could legally marry, or than people could obtain a legally enforceable claim to be of a different sex.

Jeff already mentioned age. The same arguments could apply to any metric of past claimed bias. Inescapable problem: when you throw away the standard, it becomes problematic to make a judgment.

Expand full comment
Freedom Fox's avatar

Sooo many cans of worms! Like abortion - if zygote is determinative of both biologicalcal beginning of life and unique identity - the right to choose sex, gender flowing from that arguably ambiguous stage of human development - then abortion is murder. They make a pro-life case. And I don't think many in the field of biopsychology are pro-life.

It doesn't make sense. It's contradictory of too many issues. Which I believe is the case with every pseudoscience. They are sciences that serve a narrative. And narratives change at the whim of the narrator's. Who use narratives to manipulate the minds of subjects for the agendas of rulers. Like protests for BLM in middle of lockdowns, the narrative suddenly changed for another agenda, before changing back. Science! Mutable science. The Best Science (TM).

It's truly a remarkable achievement of Amercian capitalsim that such an insipid product could be marketed and become popular. Although I'm sure in a different context, was it Mencken who observed that nobody ever went broke under-estimating the taste of the American public? Unless their laws have changed, such "beers" could not even be sold in Germany as they didn't meet the legal definition. Yes, like most goods, beer comes in all levels of quality to suit all (literally) tastes. Now for me, I did like the occasional flavorful beer ($$$) but the serious alcoholic shuns the mass marketed brew, which frankly marks one as an amateur. Regarding the story yesterday, more information on Act Blue. There is more to this story and it’s bigger than what is being disclosed.

First, a little background: Decades ago, a law was passed called Gramm Leach Bliley. Among other things, it required identity and address verification for all online credit and debit card transactions in an effort to reduce card fraud. It’s the reason online shopping sites make you enter the billing name and address in addition to the shipping address.

This is not the three digit verification code on the back of the card. That is an additional optional check implemented by the card companies and online processors can voluntarily use it to reduce their card fraud losses.

The law *requires* the online payment processor to instantly cross check with the card issuer that the name and address of the cardholder match the card number. 100% of all card processing software has the compliance with this law imbedded in the software.

In order to not comply with this law, one would have to write special, non-compliant, proprietary software. Every transaction completed on that software is a violation of the law.

Years ago, I discovered that ActBlue had done this, testing it using my own card, a fake name, and a fake address, so the transaction could not have been processed legally. It processed.

I wrote a physical letter to Bob Barr as attorney general explaining what I found. He apparently threw the letter in the trash and did nothing about it. (I know he wouldn’t actually investigate, but he would have known who to pass it to and at the time, I didn’t know he was just as corrupt as all the others.)

So federal law enforcement has known about this for years.

Where did they get this idea, you might wonder? The Obama campaigns did the same thing. Both of them. I tested that as well. I used my card, the name Osama bin Laden, and the federal penitentiary at Leavenworth as the address and donated $2 to Obama. It processed the transaction like nothing was wrong.

Do you remember reading the media hype about how he got more small donors than any other candidate in history? That’s because FEC rules don’t make them disclose the names of small donors. He was also the first candidate who didn’t disclose the names of his small donors.

Other candidates are proud of that list because it shows grass roots support. His list of small donors was private.

So someone like Soros, with a big debit card balance, could have an employee use his personal debit card, make up any name (literally X Y Z worked) and address, and donate $225 per minute to the Obama campaign and it would have never been detected or reported to the FEC as a donation, other than aggregated with other small donors.

It’s the real reason Obama turned down the federal matching funds. He knew what was going on.

We don’t know, and never will, the scale of the election fraud, but we’re at least 15 years into it. Law enforcement has known about it and chosen to do nothing. We don’t actually have any law enforcement in this country.

While it may be that ActBlue (and WinRed too) are not the ones actually processing these card transactions, it appears that whoever is violated federal law. I am involved with a grass roots group looking into this. As O'Keefe videos and our own pulls from FEC.gov are showing, many elderly people appear to be victims of a money laundering scheme. Please check with any elderly people you know who donate to political campaigns - you can look them up at fec.gov and double check the amounts and recipients are correct. If not, you probably want to contact your local sheriff (and probably O'Keefe).

Elsewhere, I've speculated on this possibility: If it can be legally established that "race" is a social construct and/or doesn't exist, would it mean that a lot of so-called "civil rights" laws become uneforceable? Imagine a landlord refusing to rent, or a firm to hire a dark-skinned person. Under present law, of course, he'd have an actionable legal claim. Or would he? If ever a precedent gets established saying that race doesn't exist, to me at least, that means it is no longer recognized in the law, and thus no legal claim could be made upon the basis of racial bias. Ironically, it'd be the polar opposite of the Jim Crow days when the "one drop" rule applied in some cases; racial discrimiantion was (mostly) legal then. Now imagine a world where racial discrimiantion remains illegal in theory but the law has shot itself in the foot by negating any means to identify race. Jeff, dare you opinine on this?😎

I'll add that I do know of one transgender man. Long-time friends of ours who are devout Mormons had one daughter who struggled with all this beginning maybe 10 years ago. At first she thought she was gay, but tried that for awhile. Then at some point she decided she should have been a man, and she started living that way. I don't know if she did anything physically or took testosterone, but it did cause enormous upheaval in her family, especially since her father was very active in the church. I remember reading something he wrote about reconciling all this with his religion and whether or not he had to no longer accept his daughter. I get the impression the family has contact, but my distant observation is that there is considerable strain and nothing will be the same again with them all. This girl-to-man found a woman who accepted her this way, and they got married (although not in the LDS church, I'm sure). They appear to live a quiet life that doesn't attract attention to all this.

"He who pays the piper calls the tune." This is but one example of Federal money coming with strings attached. In principle, there's not really anything wrong with that: Perhaps with some exceptions, a private institution or local government is free to refuse the aid, nearly always requires some type of compliance. For example, some States refuse(d) to alter traffic laws to Federal norms, so they missed out on millions of highway funding. Here in FL, we just passed the first (?) unviersal school voucher system. I don't know the details, but it sounds promising (unless you're a public school official, I guess.) Doubtless there will be legal challenges: "Government money supporting religious institutions!" How so, if the parents freely choose where to have their child schooled? If I could run the program, I would give a flat grant each year to any legally eligible child, with very few strings, maybe allow the State to send poorly-performing students to a school of the State's choice.

Expand full comment

Florida's school choice law is not the first, by far, and we already had some other 'scholarships' that allowed taxpayer funds to pay for private schooling, so this is more of an expansion of what already existed. The new law includes homeschoolers, which the previous one(s) didn't. The 'scholarship' method may be a way of ensuring that the funds are used for the education of the child and not the vacation or drugs or alcohol, or whatever, of those parents who would forsake their duty.

If it doesn't, then no need to worry because neither you or anyone else can control anything. Everything is just random collisions of chance with no discernable outcome.

Freedom too, would just be an imaginary concept then.. A fairy tale.

If there is truth...what might it be?

You must have some notion...if only vague?

I am truly curious as your post seems quite sincere. Your concern underlies the notion that good and evil seem to exist.

If so...under what pretext?

It cannot be materialism...because that is merely random, meaningless collisions of atomic particles...according to those who posit the theory.

What makes something good...or evil to you?. Maybe all you need to do is switch sides whenever you sense a winner...then you can always win...and then no more hopeless turmoil and anxiety.

I have chosen a side. I too experience turmoil, failure, misrepresentation, attacks and all else...but I know they come within a context and a purpose...and an end.

You do not need to be without hope.

I do not want to be too blunt...and not judging either...but your anxiety is an intentional choice you are making. It truly is.

I am not religious and don't want to be, it's not for me. Not judging anyone who is, of course. To be completely transparent, I just can't make sense out of religion and do not personally see how it lifts a person up as opposed to making a person feel guilty for so many things. And, I don't see how a loving god destroys people it determines to be enemies. Again, just my opinion and not trying to start any arguments whatsoever.

Anxiety is not a choice, in some cases, it is reality. I don't make enough to keep my home long term, that makes me anxious to be on the street. Anyone would be. I worry about my fading father's mental state and how long he will live, will he die early from the jabs? Every day I fear will be my last with him. I don't know how I'll keep up with inflation. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to physically work. Having anxiety that is founded on things a person cannot change is not a weakness and is not unfounded. Worrying about insignificants, I agree with you.

No, I absolutely do not choose the side that is winning. Otherwise you'd see a Ukraine flag, a gay flag, me supporting drag for kids and a picture of me wearing a face diaper. That and I'd likely be vax injured or dead. At great personal cost, like a lot of us here, my choices to stand up for what I believe it right has cost me family and friends. I have no regrets, but that does not mean my choices have not caused suffering. I still will not back down.

God is not found in a physical building. He is found inside of each one of us. We are the temple. You sound wise and are walking the narrow path even though it seems you are not aware of it. I have all the same worries that you convey here - currently taking care of my mother full time. Had to change my whole life to keep her at home. Even though I have faith in God, my Creator, I still go through fits of uncertainty. At the end, all will be well with my soul - I know this - and it comforts me. I am not my body as the world so desperately tries to convince us all. The world is an illusion, it is maya, and it lives and thrives in the shadows it creates in order to block out the Sun/Son from our lives. This is what it seeks to destroy in order to keep us slaves to this world and harden our souls to it. There are numerous examples, take your pick. On the topic of university admissions alone, there are several Supreme Court decisions and probably more in the pipeline. Fundamentally, the problem can be traced back to (at least) The Enlightenment, the idea that all men were equal before God, the Law, etc. As the centuries progress, the egalitarian zeal gets applied to new domains usually without consideration of success or failure of prior attempts. The unhappy reality is that men are not equal, nor will they ever be so. As a result, attempt at a one-size-fits-all legal, justice, moral, etc. system is doomed from the outset.

U2 made a song "40" with the lyrics of those verses and put them on their album "war" in 1983. For many years they would end their concerts with that song and people would leave the arenas singing it. Many people hate U2 now, even people that were once fans, but the Christian core is still there, not buried too far under some of the political activism of Bono. I hope.

The only way to defeat this crazy trans sports insanity is through it. Normal male athletes need to state they identify as female en masse until the entire women’s team is all men. Expose the absurdity through willful compliance!

One guy did that. He coached women’s weightlifting and a tranny was trying to compete against them. The coach change genders for the day and slaughtered the tranny.

It was especially funny because the coach didn’t even shave his beard. The tranny said Coach was a big old meanie, but he didn’t say it to his face. 😛

I saw that....absolutely perfect, IMO. More of this pushback needs to happen where these activists are hoisted on their own petard, as they say. By their own definitions about not questioning what someone says they are, they couldn't do anything about this bearded guy. The weightlifter was a better feminist supporting women than any of the phony feminists out there!

CMCM's avatar

It seems like it has come to exactly this. If a trans woman is in any competition, every single female needs to quietly not show up so that the imposter has no one to compete with. The women don't even need to make any statements, just don't show up at all. One person in a competition is not a competition! After this happens enough times, things may begin to change.

Expand full comment
consuelo's avatar

I object to the term TRANS WOMAN. Please say a man, pretending to be a woman. Don't be like FOX and refer to these men as "she" and don't refer to women pretending to be men as "he". When people give in, even in small ways, the enemy gains ground. My PCP (who happens to be LDS) chastises me when I go against the wokeness taking over at the medical BUSINESS where she is one of their employees. She does their bidding and defends the craziness now rearing its ugly head. If I find an alternative I will bail but by now there are no doctors who work for themselves. Just another way the evil ones have tightened the noose on all the rest of us.

I look forward to Substack Notes, as Twitter *still* has not un-suspended my account for stating mild, uncontroversial (to true scientists) facts, as they were known until 2020 about medical/public health things in my area of what I used to call 'expertise.' I asked the person to whose tweet I was replying whether he wouldn't be surprised if masks were required for the following (2021) flu season.
