Back in 2020, a Trump rally came to a town near me. I had never attended such a large political event and it wasn’t the most convenient time, as I had young kids, but somehow I knew I had to experience one of these historic events first hand. I went with a friend and her teen daughter. The first thing that struck us all was NO MASKS. In a crowd of thousands, during the height of feverish mask pushing, here was a crowd of people who realized already we were being lied to. I have perhaps never felt so at home in a crowd as in that moment. And also it was so much fun, even for an introvert like me.

Like him or not, these Trump rallies ARE historic. The fact that they happen fairly regularly does not change that. They have given voice AND a listening ear to so many ā€œforgottenā€ Americans and honestly, as I watched the Bronx rally, it made me less inclined to follow the sometimes-sentiment of abandoning the blue states to their doom. Nope. I saw a crowd of my people, all of them. I loved it. If they are willing to fight for positive change, we can support that. Go Bronx patriots!!

The South Bronx rally: Just WOW!! šŸ©·ā¤ļøšŸ©·

I am white, raised in Brooklyn, and very different from most in the crowd, but one thing about being raised in NYC, you feel a 'sympatico' for all the different groups that make up the mosaic.

Trump feels that too as a Queens raised person. I know that he is genuine. He IS NY, he started the Renaissance of NY in the 80s, and these people see what the corrupt system of democrats in NY are doing to him now-- in NY.

They are not stupid.

This was absolutely šŸ’Æ amazing! šŸ‘šŸ‘

Been to four Trump rallies, got into three. The one I couldn't get into I got right to the door and it hit capacity. There was a line further than I could see behind me that also didn't get in. The contrast to the biden 'rallies' was to me another stark reminder of the stolen 2020 election. No campaigning, rallies attended by a few dozen, hiding in his basement, yet he wins? And here we are four years later, the country sinking to oblivion. Stolen elections have consequences.

It's pretty much the whole appeal, IMO. Trump saw a "market" there and seized it. His supporters (at least the dozens that I know) don't worship him the way the media suggests. This isn't like Obama, with starry-eyed college freshmen crying over his speeches and setting up altars to him. He represents their pent-up anger toward the Regime and acts as their middle finger for those who feel they've been wronged by the Regime with no recourse.

This is just my conjecture, but I honestly don't think he cared much at all about the people who support him when he first started this. I think he saw an opportunity, wanted to run for President, didn't expect to win, thought maybe he'd ghostwrite a book about it, maybe do the talk show circuit.

Then, he started to hear people talk about how their towns and neighborhoods and families had been destroyed by the Regime that took away their employers and flooded them with drugs.

Then...he won. And, the regime started coming after him and it got personal.

I now see a different look to him. He seems to actually care about people he has nothing in common with except that they are all oppressed by the ruling Regime. And vice-versa. Like all Presidents, he's a figurehead and a symbol of the narrative we want to define our country. Contrary to the MSM narrative and attacks, it's not about him as a person; it's about what he stands for on behalf of those who support him.

That's what all the horserace talking heads get wrong: it's not at all about policies, which literally no one outside of college educated elites actually care about, except in broad brush terms. It's about listening to the people and what they want and providing a vision that gives them hope for the future. That's exactly what we haven't seen in our politics for decades. Instead, it's been "we're the experts and the smart ones and we'll tell you what you should think." Trump says out loud what my aunt said to me years ago: all these people running things are idiots. That's the whole battle.

These rallies are really something. It's special. And I hope it's a sign of things to come over the next few decades. I hope the people have finally had enough of globalism, forever wars, growing gov't, growing debt, ever-rising inflation, handouts and bailouts, druggies on the streets, trannies in the schools, and all the rest. And I hope this will keep going after Trump leaves politics, whenever that may be.

Agree with everything except the first two paragraphs. I think he got into politics solely because he could see the downward trajectory of our country (and maybe even because he had seen first hand how easy it was to manipulate the system; IDK). For way too long, I didn’t truly understand the ā€œthey’re not after me…I’m just in the wayā€ comment. It’s true, and IMHO, the only reason that he got into politics at this stage in life. If it was solely for his ego, I think he’d have done it long before. Remember when HRC said he’d make a great President? 🤣 She was right, and I can ignore his stance on the jabs (for now) to give him another chance. RFK fans - I get it! But he can’t win so think long and hard before you split the vote and hand the decision the House.

I haven't watched that video but I watched another video yesterday in which a post from Elon Musk was mentioned where he says something along the lines of AI will usher in universal income from all. My first thought upon reading that was Musk is a socialist. I have not been on board the AI train at all and only see it as being a way to control us more. However, after scanning the comments, someone said that Musk does not mean socialism in the context that we have seen in the past. The idea is that AI would usher in a time when humans would benefit from the work done by AI and the income generated would be shared among everyone. Believe me when I say I do not believe in socialism at all but it certainly made me think about AI in a different way. I hope that is the case because nothing would surprise me after everything that has happened the last 8 years.

Einstein Had To Speak At An Important Science Conference

On the way there, he tells his driver that looks a bit like him:

"I'm sick of all these conferences. I always say the same things over and over!"

The driver agrees: "You're right. As your driver, I attended all of them, and even though I don't know anything about science, I could give the conference in your place."

"That's a great idea!" says Einstein. "Let's switch places then!"

So they switch clothes and as soon as they arrive, the driver dressed as Einstein goes on stage and starts giving the usual speech, while the real Einstein, dressed as the car driver, attends it.

But in the crowd, there is one scientist who wants to impress everyone and thinks of a very difficult question to ask Einstein, hoping he won't be able to respond. So this guy stands up and interrupts the conference by posing his very difficult question. The whole room goes silent, holding their breath, waiting for the response.

The driver looks at him, dead in the eye, and says :

"Sir, your question is so easy to answer that I'm going to let my driver reply to it for me."

I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An ID Ten T error?

What's that? In case I need to fix it again."

There are two types of interrupters, those who do it to show how smart they are and those who do it to show how stupid the speaker is. The latter may be rude, but at least they serve a purpose in exposing incompetence. The former are just blowhards.

As someone who presents pretty often I learned very early that if I know what I'm talking about, don't make stuff up, and am confident on the subject, I don't get interrupted much. If I am interrupted it's pretty easy to deal with by sticking to the subject and not letting myself get derailed. Contrary to the old saying, there is such a thing as a stupid question, and not every question deserves a response.

As a senior, I sometimes interrupt because I have something to say and might forget what it is I want to say unless I say it as I think it. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø. Apologies.

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

Haha, thanks Janet. I didn't mean that and apologize as I was too vague in using the word interrupters. Good faith questions are always welcome when I present.

I'm talking about the type of person who interrupts with, "So what you are saying is..." (and then mischaracterizes what I said or brings up an irrelevant point). Unfortunately there are lots of these grandstanding types. I respond with, "we have limited time and that's not directly relevant to the topic. I'm happy to discuss this with you afterwards but let's not tie up everyone else". It works well.

Then there are those that interrupt with, "you said earlier that A was true, now you are saying B is true. so which is it?" These people are rude but they do keep a presenter honest. This situation is avoided by only presenting on things where one knows what they are talking about.

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

At the risk of rambling on, I'd like to expand on this a bit more. At the heart of all this is what some have called the friend/enemy distinction.

The friend asks questions or advances an argument in good faith. They are honest in dealing with others and ask questions to clarify and/or move the conversation forward. They don't have a hidden agenda, and if they do have an agenda they state that clearly.

The enemy asks questions in bad faith and have a hidden agenda (which may just be self-promotion or much more). They misrepresent what others say and put words in their mouth. They state opinion as fact and often use half-truths. They use emotional manipulation tactics and try and make others feel guilty. They shut down conversation by declaring subjects off-limits. Note that the enemy isn't someone who disagrees with us but who acts in bad faith toward us. They may even seem to superficially agree with us.

We have zero obligation to extend the same courtesy to the enemy that we do the friend. In fact, I'd argue that being courteous to the enemy is morally wrong as it enables them. This is where most Christians make a huge mistake IMO, in that they think they are required to be "nice" to people acting in bad faith. We aren't, Jesus certainly wasn't toward the Pharisees. The enemy uses people's good nature against them by making them think and in-kind response isn't allowed. We cannot act in bad faith back to them but we absolutely are able to state the truth regardless of how impolite or shocking it may seem. We also have no obligation to continue to engage with them.

This affects my worldview on everything, and it's had a dramatic effect on my life for the better once I sorted it out.

A young man named Chuck bought a horse from a farmer for $250. The farmer agreed to deliver the horse the next day. The next day, the farmer drove up to Chucks house and said, "Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the horse died."

Chuck replied, "Well, then just give me my money back."

The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already."

Chuck said, "Ok, then, just bring me the dead horse."

The farmer asked, "What ya gonna do with him?"

Chuck said, "I'm going to raffle him off."

The farmer said, "You can't raffle off a dead horse!"

Chuck said, "Sure I can, Watch me. I just won't tell any body he's dead."

A month Later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, "What happened with that dead horse?"

Chuck said, "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at five dollars a piece and made a profit of $2495."

The farmer said, "Didn't anyone complain?"

Chuck said, "Just the guy who won. So I gave him his five dollars back."

Tritorch, you inspired me to find my copy of the late T.H. Pearce's book, How to Sell a Dead Mule. Mr. Pearce was a noted historian from Franklin County, NC. The story involves a mule which had seen its best days. Its owner, George, was trying to sell the mule. Hector offered him $3, but George insisted he must get $5 for the mule and Hector left disappointed. The next day, George found that his mule had died overnight. He found Hector and said that he had reconsidered and would take $3 for the mule, but Hector would have to remove him from the stable. Hector paid the $3, only to learn that he had bought a dead mule. Apparently Hector did his part and removed the dead mule from the stable, stating that he would probably done the same thing to George if he'd had the chance.

From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint;

Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

I never imagined I would do this but I’m asking for prayer from any Jesus loving people that read this. Our family is under extreme spiritual attack currently. In ways I cannot go into. God knows anyway. It’s demonic, evil and meant to kill and destroy us. Every member of my immediate family has been hit physically by something demonic and the only one untouched currently is our disabled daughter. This has been going on for two weeks, but as I’m piecing it together it’s been much longer of the devil laying the groundwork. I am fighting in a land where I have no ā€œpeepsā€ so I have two trusted mentors out of state praying without ceasing and walking us through the attacks. I’m battle weary. Any prayers against the devil and his lies and attacks would be helpful. We also need physical protection from evil harassment happening. We are praying the armor of God daily. Thank you.

It is ever a source of frustration for me in church that English has changed the words of the Bible prayers so many times. I can hardly recognize them from one source to another.😢

It took me a few seconds to realize that this is the silent prayer I have prayed for decades:

Oh Lord, hear my prayer

Give ear to my supplication in your truth,

Be not exceedingly angry with me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit....for in you I have put my trust.

This is why I have been saying for 4+ years, that if you have never been to a Trump rally, you’ll never completely understand the popularity of the man, the optimism he invokes, and the belief America can be great again. It is also why I am still enraged that the lying media and the Beltway want to make everyone believe Biden, resident basement dweller, somehow pulled off a win, and we are not allowed to question it.

It is also why yesterday’s C&C was so good, but I read it too late to comment. Dr. Dan Ericsson of San Diego put forth the logical theory of herd immunity in a 20 minute video in April of 2020. It had over 2 million views within hours, but was pulled from every social platform within a day. We couldn’t have a solution to covid that easily because of vaccines but I also believe that would have null and voided PCR testing, lockdowns, and most importantly, mail in ballots. We had a country to ruin with a stolen election.

Expand full comment
RJ Rambler's avatar

So how many of you were traumatized, harassed, ejected, villianized in public, by locals, friends, family, neighbors because of Covid?

How many of you saw or influenced someone else to unmask in public places?

How many of you saved a life, literally because you unmasked a person in a medical event? My adult daughter did and she wasn't a medical responder. The victim could not see the more grave danger of falling in a faint than breathing freely!

I had to argue with every local venue that I had been a loyal customer to for over fifteen years about my medical RIGHT to NOT mask. I was confronted at front doors full of checkout ppl and customers being yelled at for not being masked. One man even encouraged me and my daughter but refused to remove his. He just HAD to buy the dog food now, he said. šŸ˜‘ American is not home of brave men. Men who fought wars became mice. They were too close to dying.

I have my own near death experiences: four life threatening pregnancies, direct hit tornadoes, cancer, haven't we all? But who can save his own life? Save the life of freedom for the next generation. Tell of the great things God has done in our History and strengthen your shaking knees and put on first the armor of God beginning with the helmet of salvation that protects your brain and gives wisdom to mighty men and women. We fight against spiritual enemies!

Expand full comment
J Boss's avatar

I defied the masking and entered as usual. If confronted, I explained I would leave if forced to, but as a 20+ year customer spending $XX per year, I would never EVER buy again and I would tell everyone to boycott the establishment. Only once did I have to leave. And no, I've never been back.

Fortunately, RFL's private security service was suspicious and called local law enforcement. I believe the guy was released from police custody the same day. And another guy who broke into the house where RFK and his wife live (in Hollywood, I believe)? He got all the way to the second floor before someone in the house discovered him. Local law enforcement took the guy into custody but released him the same day--and he broke into RFK's house again the same day! Law enforcement chose to charge the guy with a misdemeanor, although, given the guy's (short) criminal background, he could have been charged with a felony. Malevolence.

Looks like Dems are going to have to spend precious resources protecting NY - funds that won't be available in battleground states. The national coverage of these rallies is, in effect, allowing Trump to campaign nationally while sequestered in NY. And another benefit is that folks are seeing what true MAGA folks are and many are, hopefully, thinking "that's a lot different than what we expected - no hoods, no foaming mouths, different colors and ages...why has the media been telling us Trump's supporters are all white supremacist skin heads?"

The story "not being able to campaign due to weaponized justice" has become, by itself, a campaign trail. Crazy...

At my all boys Catholic high school in the 1970s teachers taught us that ALL writing contains bias in some form to some extent, even the encyclopedia (remember those?). They taught us how to identify the bias, left, right, up, or down, in everything we read. Today, the problem isn't simply that such critical thinking is no longer taught. The problem is that schools now literally teach that such critical thinking is evil. THAT'S where the New York Times is today.

From other sources that I've seen, this isn't anything new for the NYT's. They completely mislead people during WWII and covered for the Nazi's even though they knew that the Jewish people were being exterminated.

All forms of story telling are biased, including biographies anddocumentaries. A person compelled to tell a story wants to share a point of view or facts for a reason, which will always have some bias.

That is my mainrrason for always reading multiple points of view and perspectives. You don't know what was left out if you only read one source.

And yet, the push for Common Core ā€œstandardsā€ in education claimed it was all about teaching critical thinking.

Those of us looking behind the curtain knew better. It was (& is) about indoctrination. Plus data mining of all students.

The Globalists are probably rolling out a slew of Election Steal actions: 1) Disease X (avian flu). 2) provoke Putin into nuclear war. 3) provoke Iran to escalate War on Israel. 4) enable the CCP to invade Taiwan. 5) activate terrorists in America to create chaos.

Even if it is in motion, I want our Republican senators and congressman to know that we expect them to slow this down or stop this if there is anyway possible. Let them know that this war is extremely unpopular and that we will be voting accordingly.

Kathy, they don't care. Most of them are complicit and "republican" in name only. The few that are genuine do not last long. It's gotten past the point of party politics. To continue to believe in the red/blue fight is to be a sucker. It's a distraction for us little people.

The Bronx Rally didn’t look like a typical Trump Rally? My husband and I attended a Trump rally in Colorado in 2016. We came from work and were well dressed, as were most of the attendees. Many cultures and colors were represented. It was a fantastic experience…Americans coming together from different backgrounds celebrating their country and seeking to preserve it. We watched the media coverage later, and they showed only white hillbilly-looking folks. Where did the even FIND them! We didn’t see them. And they didn’t show the overflow crowd outside of the stadium, either. I dare say the Bronx rally resembles most of Trump’s rallies…even in Uber white Colorado. What does the Bronx have the Colorado didn’t? Rappers. We could have used some rappers.

Maybe the Bronx rally will encourage other left leaning folks to attend a Trump rally and decide for themselves what MAGA really means…maybe they’ll even come to see that the orange man isn’t so bad after all. Certainly not evil. I dunno. Love Trump. Hate Trump. Buy my hope is that this might bring the vitriol down a notch or two.

No more Hopiums or Hyperbole. Trump must be Blocked from returning to the WH, at All costs, including you/me/we.

Please, everyone call your senators and representatives today both of their phone numbers, home office and DC, and tell them you were very alarmed at this parent parent escalation of the Ukraine war, and that we are counting on them to try to stop it. If you have never made one of these calls before,it is very easy, and the people on the phone are always very polite and take down what you say. Thank you.

For all the good it does.

When the House voted to extend and expand FISA, I emailed my representative and requested a return email (it's on the form I had to fill out to send an email.) I never heard hide nor hair from her or her office. And she voted in favor of it, which to me is a clear violation of the oath she took when she entered the military, not to mention the one she swore when she took the oath for Congress.

They don't care. They're giving us all the middle finger and our solution is to call, email and vote (in rigged elections). I despair.
