My job entails working part time in a pharmacy, and Jeff's spot on about the Adderall. We can't get enough of it to fill all of the requests for it. We have a policy to fill prescriptions for existing customers, so they get theirs, but will not for anyone new who wants it because that would not leave us enough for our existing customers. You should hear these people's desperation when they call and we tell them we can't do it. They are clearly addicts. That's not a judgement, it is a matter of a fact of chemical dependence. What gets me is the ones in their 40s and 50s who are on this junk. Don't tell me they need it to pay attention in school.

And yes, we have sky high prescriptions for anti anxiety, anti depression, and a whole bunch of other mood altering drugs plus many, many, many opiates. Most of these people get this junk free, which tells me the government is paying up as opposed to private insurance, which nearly always has a copay.

America is a heavily drugged up nation.

Watch over your heart with all diligence,

For from it flow the springs of life.

Put away from you a deceitful mouth

And put devious speech far from you.

Let your eyes look directly ahead

And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.

Watch the path of your feet

And all your ways will be established.

Do not turn to the right nor to the left;

Turn your foot from evil.

— Proverbs 4:23-27 NASB1995

That pic with Zalensky standing next to Biden's desk looks like a kid waiting to get his allowance from dad.

your innocent joking comment about the source of Kissingers' fountain of youth scored lots of extra points with me.

“Do you think the Public Health Establishment will take Jay’s advice?”

No, I don’t. A narcissist - whether individual or group - never takes any righteous advice. Never. For the narcissist, it’s all about power, money, self, self, self. Any show of advice-taking will be a false face intended only to fool people in order to promote the narcissistic agenda.

So, America fed Ukrainians into the meat grinder for...? Absolutely despicable. And absolutely none of our fat generals and political leaders responsible for this carnage will lose a minute of sleep over this.

With our sword we have picked up the crown of Evil Empire that the USSR dropped in the street 30 years ago. We have become The Great Satan that the ayatollah accused us of being back in the early 80s.

Read Finley's WSJ article. Sadly, when scanning the reader comments, I would estimate 80%+ said the article was dis/misinformation and dangerous. The WSJ subscribers used to be adult, moderate, critically-thinking readers. Not sure what has happened to them.

Me thinks it's (long past) time to stop calling them "public health" agencies. Maybe "pharma death" agencies would be more fitting, less Orwellian.

Many many years ago I was teaching a physical activity class. A mother came up to me and stated that the school had advised her to give or look into giving her child medication for her lack of concentration at school. She asked if I had any trouble with her daughter? I said none whatsoever she was a model, student. I told her that initially I identified her lack of attention was due to her boredom with the class level for her age. I bumped her up to an advanced level class in which she had to pay attention and it was evidently more interesting. My reply was that “your child has no attention deficit in my classes”. The child went on to excel.

In my humble opinion you get back the amount of energy and intention you put in. Instead of parenting we put our children in front of video monitors at home in cars etc. Lazy is as lazy does. This appears to be a culmination of dishes left too long in the sink syndrome. Just do the dishes, it is going to be better for you in the long run. At the very least the dishes are not going away. Just think of the extra time it gives one to teach responsibly and respect.
